Book Lovers

Just a very quick plug for a wonderful website I've stumbled upon. It's called Good Reads, and an outstanding discovery if you love books and reading.

Here's the link: http://www.goodreads.com/

Spread the word. It would be nice to see more Australian books and writers featured.

Hi Glyn,How are you doing? I know its been a while ( too long!). Hope all is going well for you and life is good :) I've tried emailing you a few times but the ol' emailer seems to be not working! ( I'll try this message on your email too, but I figured your blog would be the next best place) I've finally made it to uni at long last, and I'm even studying Vreative Writing as a unit, which I'm loving.Hope I hear from you soon, feel free to drop me a line,Cheers,Emma Shilling

Hi, Emma

So nice to hear from you. Finally doing Creative Writing at Uni, huh? Now that does sound dangerous (smiles). Good luck with it all.

Hi Glen - stumbled on your site in a (so far) vain attempt to find copies of your novel 'Monster Man' I know you wrote it some years ago but it's a top book and enormously popular with our Year 11 English Communication students at beautiful Tamborine Mountain, hinterland of the Gold Coast in - today - rainy and foggy Qld.

We started with 30 copies but have lost some - you know when you've hit upon a good read when kids who haven't read a book for years steal the school copy!! Any chance of spare copies in your back cupboard that we could buy ?? or is there any talk of re-printing this book?? Probably need about another 20 copies.
Cheers

Hi, Jill

So very sorry, but I don't have any copies left. The book was enormously popular, and Random House still owns the rights, so if I were you I'd be giving someone there a quick call. I'd love to see it back in print, even though the novel did cause me some angst at the time of writing. I poured my heart into that one, and of course the Children's Book Council was very afraid of it when it was released. A good book, with a good story to tell.

These days I don't tour, but feel free to have your students write to me if they wish.

All the best
